The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System by Swanstrom was designed by Tim Sheriff of Swanstrom Tools USA in collaboration with Jeweler – Educator Jayne Redman.
Jayne’s Slider Clamps allow any size, shape, or thickness of material to be held securely within the 4.5” WorkRing of the Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System or the 2.5” Large Ring Circle Clamp of the Swanstrom SawPlate System – (The Swanstrom SawPlate System is available through Rio Grande).
The plastic and stainless-steel thumb screws or Phillips head screws, included in the set, hold the material on one end while slots allow the clamp to slide freely between screws in the Ring, adjusting the proper holding distance.
Jayne’s Slider Clamps Large Set is available in the Tools Shop.
The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System by Swanstrom was designed by Tim Sheriff of Swanstrom Tools USA in collaboration with Jeweler – Educator Jayne Redman. The Complete Set includes the Rotational WorkRing Base with a 4.5” WorkRing, Swanstrom Circle Clamp Adaptor, and Hardware. The Rotational WorkRing Base with WorkRing, and the Clamp Adaptor, are available as separate sets.
To use the WorkRing, slide material under the thumb screws or Phillips head screws, then tighten by hand or with the Phillips head screwdriver provided. Muscle fatigue and soreness are eliminated as the WorkRing securely holds metal orother materials, such as wood and plastic, while you saw, carve, texture, engrave, set stones, or utilize other metalsmithingtechniques. The WorkRing rotates in a silicone lined depression allowing for smooth and accurate movement, or can be held stationary by turning the locking screw on the side, or screwing up into the Ring from the underside of the base. Easily attach or remove the WorkRing Base from a dovetail mounting plate on your bench. The WorkRing System is compatible with any dovetail method of attachment such as GRS®.
The Swanstrom Circle Clamp Adaptor holds any Circle Clamp that works with The Swanstrom SawPlate System. The Clamp Adaptor is attached to the WorkRing Base by screwing from the back through either of two holes in the Ring depression, and then into the Adaptor. The Swanstrom SawPlate System, Swanstrom SawPlate Circle Clamps, and Gary’s Clamp, are available exclusively through Rio Grande.
The ability to rotate your sawing surface is essential for making blanking (pancake) dies. The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System is the perfect tool for that task. Use the included spacer and socket head screw to add a Jayne Redman® DovetailAdaptor for rotation, or remove the dovetail cleats and screw directly into the dovetail adaptor. Attach the new Jayne Redman® Dovetail Mounting Plate to your bench and screw the WorkRing Base directly into it, eliminating the need of a dovetail adaptor for rotation.
The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System is available from the Tools Shop or Rio Grande.
I have another year of great workshops lined up! In-person at Dallas, TX – Denver, CO – Long Beach, CA – Waltham, MA and Middletown, CT! I’ll be teaching two on-line workshops for Silvera Jewelry School, Berkeley, CA. Download my 2024 Workshop Calendar for all the info. Workshop Calendar 2024.pdf

The Jayne Redman® Wire and Tube Cutting Jig is the perfect tool for hands free cutting of a wide range of materials and dimensions. Watch my new video to see the jig in action!
The Jayne Redman® Wire and Tube Cutting Jig is the perfect tool for hands free cutting of a wide range of materials and dimensions. Move the Stop up or down the 6″ Jig body and screw down the knurled knob to set the length of wire or tubing for your project. A 2mm setback in the V Channel Insert allows a smaller gauge wire to slide under the Stop and not slip up when the wire is cut. The backside of the V Channel does not have a setback. To use the flush side of the Jig, slide the Stop off the Jig and rotate so that the knurled knob is on the left. Slide the Stop back on the Jig. You will now be able to slide the Stop down the entire length of the jig to cut smaller gauge wire or tubing less than 2mm long.
Use the saw guide left or right handed by unscrewing the Thumbscrew and inserting it into the Saw Guide from the opposite end. Rotate the Saw Guide with the V Channel on top and screw the Thumbscrew into the Jig, lining up the Stabilizing Plug in the adjacent hole. Remove the Saw Guide entirely to flush cut wire.
For Hands free use screw through the beveled hole in the upper left of the Jig and into your bench top. Or remove one of the screws from the Aluminum surface of your Jayne Redman® Rotational Bench Pin. Use it to screw directly through both the beveled hole in the upper left of the Jig and the Aluminum Surface into the Rotational base.
