The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System by Swanstrom was designed by Tim Sheriff of Swanstrom Tools USA in collaboration with Jeweler – Educator Jayne Redman.
Jayne’s Slider Clamps allow any size, shape, or thickness of material to be held securely within the 4.5” WorkRing of the Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System or the 2.5” Large Ring Circle Clamp of the Swanstrom SawPlate System.
The stainless-steel Phillips head screws, included in the set, hold the material on one end while slots allow the clamp to slide freely between screws in the Ring, adjusting the proper holding distance.
Jayne’s Slider Clamps Large Set is available in the Tools Shop.
The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System by Swanstrom was designed by Tim Sheriff of Swanstrom Tools USA in collaboration with Jeweler – Educator Jayne Redman. There are two sets:
∙ The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System includes the WorkRing Base with a 4.5” WorkRing, and an Acrylic Disc. Hardware includes a screwdriver; two dovetail cleats with two 1/4” socket head screws for attachment; 8 – 1/4” Phillips head screws with washers; a small and large hex wrench; a 3/8”socket head screw with Spacer; and a Locking Tab with screw.
∙ The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System with Swanstrom Circle Clamp Adaptor includes all Hardware listed above, with the addition of the Swanstrom Circle Clamp Adaptor, 3/32” Hex wrench, 1/8” flat head hex Locking Screw, and two 1/4” Phillips head screws.
The WorkRing, the Swanstrom Circle Clamp Adaptor, the Dovetail Mounting Plate, the Dovetail Adaptor, Jayne’s Large Slider Clamps, Jayne’s Small Slider Clamps, and the Wolf Wax Trimmer Adaptor, are available as separate items. New Clamping accessories include the WorkDisc and WorkFingers.
To use the WorkRing, slide material under the Phillips head screws, then tighten with the Phillips head screwdriver provided. Muscle fatigue and soreness are eliminated as the WorkRing securely holds metal or other materials, such as wood or plastic, while you saw, carve, texture, engrave, set stones, or utilize other metalsmithing techniques. The acrylic disc replaces the WorkRing with a solid surface to set objects on.
The WorkRing rotates in a silicone lined depression allowing for smooth and accurate movement, or can be held stationary by eitherturning the Locking Tab on the side and tightening the screw, or screwing up into the Ring from the underside of the base with two 1/4” Phillips head screws. Easily attach or remove the WorkRing Base from a dovetail mounting plate on your bench. The WorkRing System requires a dovetail method of attachment. It is compatible with any dovetail mounting plate such as GRS®.
The Swanstrom Circle Clamp Adaptor holds any Circle Clamp that works with The Swanstrom SawPlate System. It attaches to the WorkRing Base by screwing from the back through two holes in the Ring depression with two 1/4” Phillips head screws, and then into the Adaptor. Screw the included 1/8” hex screw into the side of theCircle adaptor with the 3/32” hex wrench and turn the screw to keep the Circle Clamp from rotating.
The Wolf Wax Trimmer Adaptor fits into the Circle Clamp Adaptor and holds the Wolf Wax Trimmer, Wolf Adjustable Trimmer, Wolf Collar and the GRS® Adaptor for the Ikohe Belt Sander.
The ability to angle your sawing surface is essential for making blanking (pancake) dies. The Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing System is the perfect tool for that task.Use the included Spacer and longer Socket Head Screw to add a Jayne Redman® Dovetail Adaptor for swiveling, or remove the dovetail cleats and screw directly into the dovetailadaptor. Tighten and loosen the Large Socket Head Screw with the Large Hex Wrench toallow the base to swivel.
The Jayne Redman® Wire and Tube Cutting Jig is the perfect tool for hands free measuring and cutting of a wide range of materials and dimensions. Move the Stop up or down the 6″ Jig body and screw down the knurled knob to set the length of material to be cut. A 2mm setback in the V Channel Insert allows material of a smaller gauge to slide under the Stop and not slip up when the wire is cut. The opposite side of the V Channel does not have a setback and is flush with the face. Slide the Stop off the Jig and rotate it so the knurled knob is on the left. You will now be able to cut small gauge material to less than 2mm in length. For smooth movement of the Stop, push from the center.
Use the saw guide left or right handed by unscrewing the Thumbscrew and inserting it into the Saw Guide from the opposite end. Rotate the Saw Guide with the V Channel on top and screw the Thumbscrew into the Jig, lining up the Stabilizing Plug in the adjacent hole. Remove the Saw Guide entirely to flush cut wire.
For hands free use screw through the beveled hole in the upper left of the Jig and into your bench top. Or remove one of the screws from the Aluminum or Purple Heart Wood Work Surface of your Jayne Redman® Rotational Bench Pin. Use it to screw directly through both the beveled hole in the upper left of the Jig and the Work Surface into the Rotational base. You can also attach the Jig to your Jayne Redman® Rotational WorkRing.
The Jayne Redman® Wire and Tube Cutting Jig can be found in the Tools Shop.
The Jayne Redman® Bench Accessory System allows you to combine components to create a custom tool organizer. The System consists of an Aluminum Body section and either an Aluminum or Purple Heart Wood Leg Set. The Aluminum Body has a top slot on one side and a bottom slot on the other. Slide the corresponding slotted legs onto the body section to create a single stand or combine more than one body section to create a multiple stand.
Use your Jayne Redman® Bench Accessory System to hold pliers, shears, tweezers or any compatibly shaped tool.
The Jayne Redman® Rotational Bench Pin is the perfect work surface for your jeweler’s bench. The interchangeable surfaces are aluminum and purple heart wood. Both the aluminum and large wood surfaces are 5 inches wide and 6 inches long. The new Mini Pin and Ring Pin in purple heart wood are 3 inches wide and 5 inches long.
Three base configurations are available. The Standard Base is designed to be attached with screws to the top of your work bench. The Dovetail Base slides onto a Dovetail Mounting Plate that is attached to the front of your work bench. Both bases can be rotated 360 degrees. The rotational aspect is particularly useful when sawing blanking dies as shown in the videos on the Tools page. The third base configuration is a simple stationary one with a single Universal Mounting Bracket attached to the front of your bench. See photos of each configuration in the Bench Pin Use Guide PDF.
The Jayne Redman® Rotational Bench Pin is made in Maine, USA.
The Jayne Redman® Rotational Bench Pin System is available from the Tools Shop or Rio Grande.
